Animal Biotechnology
Animal Biotechnology can be expressed as the use of scientific and engineering principles and animal product production and processing together in order to produce mainly yield and service. Animal Biotechnology is a branch of science that implements and develops some methods such as molecular identification methods for determination of gene or gene regions, mammalian cell culture to produce various proteins, in vitro embryo culture, cryobiology, cloning in order to develop some characteristics like genetic characteristics of domestic animal species, their protection, superior productivity, and disease and pest resistance. In addition to these, animal biotechnology recently concentrates on production of transgenics with gene transfer to embryo to get resistant and high effective animals.
Plant Biotechnology
Plant Biotechnology cab be defined as plant science that produce desired products and services by studies on plant genes, cells, organs and tissues. Plant Biotechnology aims to contribute the social welfare with agricultural production, increasing efficiency and quality of agricultural plants and production of suitable commercial plant varieties. Modern Biotechnological methods such as gene isolation, gene sequencing, determination of genes that codes desired characteristics, providing the use of identified genes for breeding studies and/or transfer of these genes, the production of transgenic plants that resistant to biotic and abiotic stress conditions are used for achieving these aims.
Enzyme and Microbial Biotechnology
The role of microorganisms as a biological tool and their enzymes is important for various areas like agriculture, livestock, food, detergent, paper, leather industry. Based on the information the aim of enzyme and microbial biotechnology is optimize conditions in laboratory before large-scale manufacturing industries and factories for production of enzymes from microorganisms that are especially important for agriculture, their purification, characterization and developing their some important properties and their production.
